Here's the chart I used when deciding what jacket to buy, what features were important to me, and where to buy it from. I looked for the lowest price on fitted leather jacket with CE approved armor. Being that I'm quite curvy (34-25-35) I was looking for a jacket that, on top of being safe, would flatter my figure rather than making me look like a monolithic block. I took some time to consider the features I wanted, and these were at the top of my list:
- Leather, Black with white/contrast piping or highlighting for night riding, at least 1mm thick
- Removable Liner
- CE approved armour in elbow, shoulders and back
- Venting
- Inside pockets (at least 2)
- re-enforced stitching (double or quad) on stress points of high impact
- Adjustable waist/hips for tighter fit
- Neoprene collar for comfort and fit without stiffness of leather
- Zippers at sleeves for tighter fit
- Neck loop for hanging the jacket on a coat rack
- Reasonable weight/bulk (nothing too heavy or bulky)
