What type of riding gear is required for the MSA Program?
If students do not own their own riding gear, we supply full body armoured jackets, knee and shin guards, gloves and helmets at no additional cost. Rain gear is also available when required (Yes, we will go out in the rain). Students must bring their own boots that are leather, cover the ankles, and have structural support.
What do I need from ICBC to get started?
You need your motorcycle learners license and you can find more details about obtaining that at the following link: http://www.icbc.com/licensing/lic_getlic_mbike-dl.asp
When is PRS’s next available course?
PRS does offer four different schedules to accommodate you and new courses start every Monday. Call our office for the next available course to avoid disappointment, as our courses do fill up quickly.
What are your policies regarding cancellation in case I can’t make it?
Our polices are available to be viewed here: Policies
Where does PRS train?
Unlike other schools, we do not rent our parking lot area from another business. PRS training facilities are owned and operated by Pacific Riding School, ensuring a safe controlled environment.
How much of a deposit do I require to hold a spot?
50% of the cost of the course, the remaining balance will be paid on the first day of your course.
Can I change course dates, if I have already pre-registered?
Give us two weeks notice and we can reschedule your course.
How much riding experience do your instructors have?
Current industry standards require only 3 years, which is far below the PRS standards. All of our lead instructors have 13+ years of riding experience and all of our other instructors have a minimum of 10 years.
Where do we ride?
Throughout the lower mainland including Surrey, downtown Robson, Chinatown, Gastown, Little Italy, Metrotown, Kitsilano, UBC, New Westminster, Richmond and North Vancouver.
I have no previous riding experience? Is this course right for me?
Absolutely! Our MSA course is designed with the new rider in mind, we start from absolute basics to more intermediate techniques. It is not a requirement that you have any driving experience prior to taking our course. If you would like to prepare for your training, we would suggest you start out with a pedal bike, as this will help you gain your balance.
Do you welcome and encourage female riders?
Definitely! We do not discriminate our students based on age or gender.
Little nervous about going on the road, how is the instructor going to coach me?
PRS uses KENWOOD FM frequency radios with an effective range of 8KM. With a dedicated radio frequency, instructors can provide immediate instructions and feedback to keep you from harm.
I have been riding for years, do you have an advance course designed to improve my skills as a street rider?
Yes! PRS offers an ARS (Advanced Riding School) course with the experienced street rider in mind. All ARS courses are facilitated with our advanced riding instructors. Race tracks are simply roads with no cars offering a controlled environment to learn smoothness and control. PRS is NOT a race school.
