Introducing Melanie Lee – first PRS sponsored female racer!

Melanie Lee: Racer #41 Profile

2845Born 1980, 4’11”, 98 pounds
Street / Track Bike: 2008 Yamaha R6

Against the traditional stigma of being a vertically challenged Asian female, Melanie began her motorcycle career in 2008, with one goal in mind: freedom of being on two wheels. Inspired by her incredibly supportive husband, together they enjoy short trips to Squamish, carving the cascade mountains, and multiple track days each year.

Since then, Melanie has burned rubber at some of North America’s best circuits including Miller Motorsports Park, Portland International Raceway (PIR), Oregon Raceway Park, Thunderhill Raceway Park, and Ridge Motor Sports Park.

Melanie’s favourite memory was her first track day, with only 2 seasons of riding, where she was able to scrub the logos off her knee pucks at PIR. Her favourite track to date would be Thunderhill, known for its warm weather and a 3 mile road course with 15 turns!

Melanie is looking forward to her first race event at Greg Moore Raceway this Sunday May 24, 2015. When asked what she is looking forward to the most, she (half jokingly) replied with “Not to be last!”

Melanie is thankful to Honda Centre for their sponsorship and is proud to be the first female racer to be sponsored by Pacific Riding School.
